The PTU is a trade union, a professional body, and a social concern group. Over 90% of Hong Kong teachers, from kindergartens to universities, are members of this union,which protects teachers rights and provides them with various welfare services. As a professional body on education, the PTU strives for education quality through promotion of teachers professionalism, and through advocacy of education policies which ensure that every child learns well and is cared for.
